Father and Son Bonding

Everyday as soon as dinner is done Lincoln asks Daddy to play the shooting game.  Most days ge agrees and they choose what to hunt first.  Daddy does most of the hunting and Linc jumps in when he needs a driver.  Tonight they are hunting antelopes and will have beat  the game!

Ash Wednesday

Tonight was  Lincoln's first time getting the ashes!
Kaylee was not as excited I was taking her pic in church.  Apparently the big issue was that the flash was on. Oops!

First big snow of the year = First snowman for Lincoln!

We have had several days of flurries but never enough snow to go sledding or to even play in.  Finally the snow came and Lincoln was so excited to be out of school and to be able to go sledding.  This year Dad and Lincoln built his first snowman.  He was so proud!  Kaylee and I watched from the warmth of the house.  She has finally given up on sledding and snow just like me!

Infomercial Junkie

He is a infomercial junkie.  I cant tell you how many times one of us is called to watch a commercial for all the cool stuff you can get for just 19.95.  Well one of his favorite things is a Snackeez.  You put your favorite snack on top and favorite drink on bottom and best of all it doesn't spill!  Thanks to Walgreens I get to hear about this product often as he recites all of the wonderful things about it as we pass it.  So when he got his birthday money he wanted to buy his very own Snackeez.  So we rushed to Walgreens to get it and a favorite snack to put inside.

See mom, it doesnt spill!

Snowmade Ice Cream - Take 2!

The best thing about snow is making snowmade ice cream!  This stuff is truely amazing and I am not sure how I made it this long not knowing it existed.  This us year two for us and we live it just as much as last time!
Oh and Lincoln's issue with ice cream seems to have faded!

6 years later...

Wow, 6 years later!

Six years ago on Friday the 13th, I went into labor around noon during Kaylee's Valintines day party at school.  I didnt realize then that it was labor so I made plans for mom to watch the kids that evening and my sister came over for a bit to help me put away baby clothes.  As the day went on it dawned on me that I was in labor.  I knew that if I went to the hospital they wouldnt let me eat so we took the kids to my moms and Matt and I went out to dinner.  We wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse but the wait was 2 hours long.  Since my contractions were now about 3 1/2 minutes apart I didnt think we had the time to wait.  Pasta house was across the street and didnt have a wait to we went there.  We enjoyed our dinner and then went home to pack a bag so that we could head to the hospital.

Tonight is the first time that the 13th is on a Friday again since that day and we thought why not redo that evening except this time we went out and celebrated Lincoln.  We went to Pasta House so he could cash in a free coupon for his reading goals being met in January.  We told him the story of that day and night and how he was born the next day and about how he was Piper until he was born a boy all while he enjoyed his pizza for reading!!!  Reading!

We now have a 6 year old boy!  Which is sometimes still a shocker.

Valentine Party

One of the perks I have since I work from home is being able to go to all of the parties. Lincoln loves it so much when I come and that is all the reason I need to go.  He loves showing me all the things they have in their classroom and introducing me to all of his friends.  I am not sure I am ready for room mom or anything like that but I do love being there to make him happy and it gives me a chance to meet some of the other kids parents.

Mrs. S filling in for Mrs Edwards - they always have them under control.
And he has not even had sugar yet.
Yummy!

Patiently waiting for his turn.
Not too shabby.

I have a new hate for a dumb holiday!

I have never been a fan of Valentines day.  Probably because I am not a very romantic person and I do not like gushy stuff.   The one thing I loved as a kid though was picking that perfect valentine for my friends.  As a parent this is NO FUN.  The teacher sent home the class list but I had no intention of having Lincoln write their names on the valentines.  I was just going to have him sign his name that way he could just give any valentine to any friend (since he cant read their names anyway).  Well that is not the idea he had.  For the whole week before he had so much homework and he never wanted to work on the valentines so of course we waited until the night before the party.  That is when he tells me his master plan of writing each one of his friends names on the cards.  I had to leave so I left him and Dad with the list.  I showed him how to fill them out and cross the names off the list.  I was fully expecting it to be a disaster but when I returned I was shocked when he had them completed.  It only took 15 minutes for me to figure out who each one was really for and find the one kid he missed. Then my next brilliant idea slapped me in the face, I have to stuff these dang valentines with Airhead candies that do not fit in the designated hole designed for them.  After 30 more minutes and redoing 2-3 of them since I ripped them in half the valentines are now complete!

Valentines are now on the 'Its only fun when you are kid list' right next to school supply shopping!

Chasing him down!

Its normal to get in you car and drive around until you find the ice cream truck, right?  It is at our house thats for sure.
It is Feb 8th and 70° outside and the ice cream  truck  made his  first appearance  in 2015.  We can always hear him and he tortures us by driving up and down EVERY street but ours. So we have to hunt him down. Me and the kids cant even help ourselves!

Student Of the Month

I can not believe it but Mr. Wonderful got student  of the month for January.  He might be wild and crazy and speak what is on his mind at home but he is well behaved and loved at school.   We are SO proud of him!

Super Bowl 2015

Aka the first RASH party of the year.  I hear there was a football game on but I'm  not too sure.  The table dancing baby kept me entertained  all night.

Commercials are what people look forward to and they were not very good this year.  None of us cared to cheer for either team.  Seahawks won in 2014 and are a bunch of cocky aholes I hear and the Patriots have been accused of cheating by using a deflated football so it was choose who you hate the least at this point.

Patriots are the 2015 Super Bowl champions.
