Lighting bug nightlight!

This is something I always remember doing as a kid especially in Fredricktown while visiting my grandparents.  Now days cities have the bug man that drives around spraying for mosquitoes so you dont have as many lighting bugs.  This year I have not heard him too many times and was excited to see Lincoln catching them.  I went inside and found a jar and made my air holes in the lid.  I was equally as excited when Lincoln was stoked to fill up the jar with lighting bugs.  He wanted to keep them as pets so he was thrilled when I said he could take the jar inside for a nightlight!

Sharing the memories!

Summer School Payoff

Lincoln got a $25 gift card for going to summer school this year.  He was stoked to spend the money on a new toy and we went the day he got it.  He also bought a golf gloves so he doesn't get a blister next time at the driving range.

My not so little baby!

I love that this boy still wants to sit in my lap.  He still wants to hug and kiss me too!  I'm taking as long as he is still giving.

#1 Dad!

The kids had a big day planned for Matt for Fathers Day.  Lincoln wanted to take him bowling and Kaylee wanted to go to the driving range.  It was a full day but we had a great time.  I am so thankful that I have him for my kids and I love seeing how proud Lincoln is of his dad.

Coles birthday party!

Cole has a horse back riding party today that was ending with a sleep over.  This was a very nerve racking party for the both of us.  We were both nervous about the horse back riding but for very different reasons.  I was nervous about safety since I wouldnt be attending the party too and he was nervous about riding the horse backwards.  Yes, I just said backwards.  When I asked him why he thought that he broke down the words for me, horse -back- riding.  Surely that meant backwards right?  He sure was releaved and ready to ride when he realized he could face forward!  He made sure to tell the instructor though that he wanted to walk and not trot.  So once that was over it was back to the house for the sleep over which I was just as nervous for. He hadnt ever stayed somewhere before that was not family and these boys were a little older and like to play tricks on the first kid to fall asleep. Coles mom threatened them not to do anything to Lincoln but I gave him the run down of what happens at sleep overs.  All was well when I called to check on him around 9 but come 11 she called to tell me Lincoln was crying in the bathroom.  Once it was pj time he was ready to come home.  Matt and I went to pick him up and he didnt seem to have a reason he wanted to come home other that to just be with us.  It was a bitter sweet moment for me because my little boy felt safer with us but he missed out on the sleep over.  He said he wants to try again with just Cole.  So we will!

We have a swimmer...

This kid has shocked us all this year.  He swims all over the pool and can swim across the whole pool underwater.  Ever since he has discovered goggles he doesnt need floatation.
